M. Tullius Cicero

Sequitur auri illa invidia Iudaici. Hoc nimirum est illud quod non longe a gradibus Aureliis haec causa dicitur. Ob hoc crimen hic locus abs te, Laeli, atque illa turba quaesita est; scis quanta sit manus, quanta concordia, quantum valeat in contionibus.

Then there is that unpopularity over the Jewish gold. This is presumably the reason why this case is being heard not far from the Aurelian steps. It was for this particular charge, Laelius, that you sought this site and that crowd. You know how vast a throng it is, how close-knit, and what influence it can have in public meetings.
